Travails of a bar girl
You have to feel sorry for Tarannum Khan, aka Tannu. First, the dance bars in the state are shut down, putting her out of a livelihood. Then, she bets Rs 1.5 crore on India winning a cricket match and, surprise surpise, India lose.
On the other hand, you don't have to feel sorry for her. If all that Mid Day's report alleges is true, she's some star, cavorting with "several Bollywood actors and cricketers from Sri Lanka and Pakistan including a record-breaking Lankan spinner." Surely some of them will help her out now.
