When Marxist meets Marwari
The Telegraph reports:
As in China, so in Bengal: the party of the dispossessed — sarbaharar dal — has opened its doors to people with possessions.Given that the policies of the left don't benefit the dispossessed anyway, perhaps it's time they looked elsewhere. There's only so much you can achieve by making a virtue out of poverty.
Some 10-12 Hindi-speaking candidates, mostly from the Marwari community, are contesting the civic elections on Left Front tickets.
