Nice summit, good bus, no cigar

Swaminathan Anklesaria Aiyar writes:
Talking is always better than shooting. So I welcome the amicable Musharraf-Manmohan summit, and the Srinagar-Muzzafarabad bus service. Yet, I believe that both are irrelevant to peace in Kashmir.

Aiyar equates the Kashmir issue with the terrorist problem that Punjab faced in the 1980s, but I don't believe that the two are all that similar, or can be solved in the same manner. I'll elaborate on that theme in a later piece. In the meantime, do read his thought-provoking article.
