The contradictions of Diwali
Gautam Chikermane writes in the Indian Express:
For all its sound and light, celebration and aspiration, I find the way we celebrate Diwali today a contradiction in finance. We offer prayers to Lakshmi, goddess of wealth, and, like all good sinners, do things that defy our prayers, our goals, our well being.
