Cricketing Cliche 3
It all evens out in the end.
This is, of course, not just a cliche but also untrue. It may even out in the cosmic scale, but not for individuals. You have lucky fellas and unlucky fellas, and a bad decision on your debut could end your career if you're a batsman. Also, in an event like cricket, probabilities of "good-luck events" and "bad-luck events" may vary.
Zaheer Khan will feel ok, though. He's bowled a fiery spell this morning, and was unlucky not to pick up a wicket, with a couple of close lbw shouts turned down, and a couple of play-and-misses. And then, he trapped Younis Khan lbw with a ball that appeared to pitch outside the leg stump. So it evened out for him. But what about Younis?
Update: Oops. Subsequent replays indicate that the ball probably pitched on line after all. I'd seen a replay with the wrong camera angle. Sorry. Mistake happened, but it'll all even out in the end.
