Men and girls
Anant Rangaswami is peeved by this line in an Outlook emailer: "Men believe that it is important for girls to be virgins when they get married."
"The antonym of men is not girls," he points out.
And since nitpicking is such fun, let me pick out another line from the mailer: "The new alpha male is desirable, not dominating, attentive, and not arrogant."
I won't insult your intelligence by pointing out the many ways in which that sentence sucks. But jeez, if one had to point out the shabby language used by MSM journalists, there wouldn't be enough hours in the day. Why bother?
