Nine female[s] ... vying for the love of a lone male fought a bloody battle ... that left all 10 ... dead.Well, actually, that's not the whole story. The line actually says:
Nine female deer vying for the love of a lone male fought a bloody battle in the deer enclosure of a zoo in Ujjain that left all 10 animals dead.But really, it need not have been deer. Remove all the artifice and we're animals, is what I'm saying. (Just like deer, but less graceful, and overdressed.) And of course, we fight and kill in subtle ways, but for the same rewards. It all boils down to that.
