Don't look at the finger

Ashok Malik writes in the Indian Express:
Many years ago, a friend and mentor introduced me to an old Chinese proverb: when the finger points to the moon, the idiot points to the finger. Given the punditry that has followed Uma Bharati’s expulsion from the BJP, the wisdom in that one-liner seems appropriate.
