What to spit then?

More than a decade ago, I remember watching an episode of that video-magazine, Newstrack, in which there was an interview of Devi Lal. His son, Om Prakash Chautala, had just become the chief minister of Haryana, and the interviewer was bold enough to ask Devi Lal why he had made his son the chief minister. Lal, without pausing to think, shot back:

"Tho kya Bhajan Lal ke chhore ko banaaoo?"

("So should I make Bhajan Lal's son the chief minister then?")

The logic was impeccable, and I am reminded of that now when I read this news report about how gutka and paan have been banned in the Bihar assembly. No?
