No more mwah mwah?
The World Health Organisation has started advocating that instead of shaking hands or kissing/cheek brushing, people should adopt a new kind of social greeting: bumping elbows. Why so? There's less chance of germs spreading this way, it seems.
Hmm. That might make sense in an area where a pandemic is spreading, but can never work in the normal world. Social conventions evolve, and memes can rarely be spread by design. I certainly refuse to bump elbows when I meet friends, and anyone who wishes to do that can just come kiss my butt. I promise to wash first.
