Sudan's in Mumbai

And Kenya's in Chennai. Nah, Africa isn't coming to India, it's just that the mysteriously named Sudan 1, the carcinogenic agent that was found in exported Indian chillies, is apparently from Mumbai. Or rather, its suppliers are. Mid Day has more.

The Telegraph feels it's a fuss about nothing, though, with Rosie Murray-West writing that Sudan 1 "is so inoffensive that it would be difficult to use it to poison a rat before it died at a ripe old age, but we all love a good food crisis, and this is shaping up to be a textbook example."
